Enter start/end dates and monthly average wage to estimate severance.
Severance = average daily wage × 30 × (days worked ÷ 365). If average wage is lower than ordinary wage, the ordinary wage is used. This is a pre-tax estimate; the actual amount differs after retirement income tax (check Hometax).

How severance is calculated
Severance = average daily wage × 30 × (days worked ÷ 365). The average daily wage is the total wage of the last three months divided by the actual days in that period (89–92). Each year of continuous service accrues 30 days of average wage.
Average wage vs ordinary wage
Average wage includes base pay and fixed allowances, with bonuses and unused-leave pay apportioned in. If the average wage is lower than the ordinary wage, the ordinary wage is used instead.
Eligibility and tax
Statutory severance applies from one year of continuous service; workers under 15 hours a week are excluded. The result is pre-tax — the actual amount is set after retirement income tax, which has a more complex structure.

Frequently asked questions
How is severance calculated?
Average daily wage × 30 × (days worked ÷ 365). The average daily wage uses the last three months' total wage over the actual days in that period.
Do under-one-year employees get severance?
Statutory severance starts at one year of continuous service. Under a year, none is due; the tool flags this and shows a reference figure.
Is the figure what I actually receive?
It is a pre-tax estimate. Your real amount is set after retirement income tax and your company's exact wage composition.
