VAT Calculator (Korea, 10%)
Split any amount into net, VAT and gross at Korea's standard 10% rate — with a net/gross toggle and reverse VAT.
Enter an amount to split it into net, VAT and gross.
Based on standard Korean VAT (10%). Simplified taxpayers use industry-specific rates, so actual tax due differs. Rounding on a tax invoice may differ by 1 KRW.

How VAT is calculated
Korean value-added tax (VAT) is 10% of the net (supply) value. Enter the net amount and the tool adds 10% to show the VAT and the gross total a customer pays — a net of 100,000 KRW gives 10,000 KRW VAT and a gross of 110,000 KRW.
Reverse VAT from a gross amount
When you only know the VAT-inclusive total, switch the toggle to Gross and the tool divides by 1.1 to recover the net value and the VAT portion — 110,000 KRW becomes 100,000 KRW net plus 10,000 KRW VAT. Handy for invoices and expense reconciliation.
Standard vs simplified taxpayers
This uses the standard 10% rate for general taxpayers. Simplified taxpayers apply industry-specific rates, so the actual tax due differs — confirm those with the tax office (Hometax) or an accountant. Use this tool for quick quote and billing math.
Private by design
Every calculation runs in your browser; the amounts you enter are never sent to a server and it works offline.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate VAT?
VAT = net × 10%, and gross = net × 1.1. A net of 100,000 KRW has 10,000 KRW VAT and a 110,000 KRW gross. Choose the Net option and enter the amount to see both.
How do I get the net value from a gross (VAT-inclusive) amount?
Divide the gross by 1.1. Select the Gross (VAT included) option and the tool splits your amount into net and VAT automatically.
Does this work for simplified taxpayers?
No. It uses the standard 10% rate. Simplified taxpayers use industry-specific rates, so check your actual amount with Hometax or an accountant.
Are the amounts I enter sent anywhere?
No. All calculations happen in your browser and nothing is uploaded. It works offline too.
