Convert audio formats in your browser
Some apps only accept WAV, some devices prefer MP3, and Apple devices like M4A. Drop a file, pick an output format, and this tool converts between MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, OGG and Opus — no software to install and no sign-up. Everything runs inside your browser, so your file is never uploaded anywhere.
Bitrate and lossless
Lossy formats (MP3, M4A, OGG, Opus) let you choose 128–320 kbps: 128 to save space, 192 for everyday listening, 256–320 for higher quality. To preserve the original, export to WAV (uncompressed) or FLAC (lossless). Note that converting an already-compressed MP3 to WAV cannot restore quality that was lost.
Private by design
After the conversion engine loads once, your files stay on your device — good for personal recordings and unreleased tracks. The first load and large files can take a while. To keep only a section, use the audio cutter; to pull audio out of a video, use the extractor.
Frequently asked questions
Which formats can I convert?
MP3, M4A (AAC), WAV, FLAC, OGG and Opus, in any direction — e.g. WAV to MP3 or M4A to MP3. Lossy formats let you pick a bitrate; WAV and FLAC are saved without loss.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser and audio is never sent to a server. Only the engine is fetched once, after which it works offline.
Why is the first conversion slow?
The conversion engine is downloaded once (it is large), then cached. Large files or long audio can also take time depending on your device.
Which MP3 bitrate should I pick?
192 kbps is fine for general listening; choose 256–320 for higher quality. Higher bitrate means larger files, and raising it cannot restore quality lost in a low-quality source.
